My story
The secret to any journey is starting. And a real passion won't let you stop – no matter the obstacles.
My story with Neapolitan pizza began in 2020, when a friend built me an oven. At first I made pizza for family, neighbors, colleagues, and friends – for fun, for love. Step by step, the game turned into a calling.
I started to understand what really happens inside the dough: how yeast works over time, how flour shapes the final texture, how each ingredient changes the taste. I never took a course – everything I know comes from years of self-study and trial. I followed the great Italian pizzaioli, joined international and Romanian pizza communities, read, tested, failed, tried again. I haven't stopped since.
In 2023 I took part in the 4th edition of the international Vera Pizza Contest, organized by Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana – my Margherita ranked among the top 20 in the world. The same year, I began collaborating with the Romanian Professional Pizza Makers Association: workshops, shared techniques, people truly devoted to this craft. In 2024 and 2025 I competed at the International Pizza Championship in Bucharest, and in 2025 my team finished 3rd in the Pizza Team category. In 2026 I became a member of the Association.
That's how Mr. Pizzerota by Călătorul Grăbit was born – a mobile concept on an Ape Piaggio, like the ones you see in Italy. The idea is simple: I come to your event and make Neapolitan pizza by hand, right in front of your guests. And if you'd like, you can put your hands on the dough yourself. Kids, especially, love to make their own pizza. It's an authentic, interactive experience – a gastronomic show on wheels.
For me, pizza is a universal language of joy. I want every pizza that comes out of the oven to be a full experience, not just a tasty dish. Through it I want to pass on authenticity, respect for tradition, and a story told through simple, carefully chosen ingredients. Every well-proofed dough, every sauce made with care, every basil leaf – they all belong to something bigger: a genuine connection between me and the people who taste my work.
Neapolitan pizza is a UNESCO heritage tradition – one I carry forward with seriousness and passion. For me, success isn't selling pizza. It's the moment someone asks for a second slice with a smile, or the spark in their eyes at the first bite. That's all. That's what Mr. Pizzerota is: a piece of Naples, served with heart, wherever you are.
